Canadian Medical Auctions are proud sponsors of the 44th annual Canadian Medical and Biological Engineering Society Conference, taking place virtually from May 11 to 13, 2021.
The premier event for biological engineering professionals in Canada, this year has an exciting and interesting program line up including COVID response innovations, the latest development in medical devices, AI in medicine and cybersecurity.
Helen Wilks, EVP and COO comments: “Cybersecurity is a very current topic and I’m looking forward to learning more. At Canadian Medical Auctions, one of the most important tasks we undertake - and one we take very seriously - is data security.” Before reselling any medical equipment, CMA ensures that patient data has been fully removed and certified, using government approved software. “As well providing a data erasure service, we’re also acutely aware of the importance of ensuring that the hospital or clinic providing the equipment for sale is completely anonymized, by the removal of all asset tags and identifying information.” She continues; “With increased data security, we can prevent more landfill, while prolonging the life of vital equipment that can be used in underdeveloped nations.”
The conference is of course virtual due to Canada’s continued Stay-at-Home order. Although Canadian Medical Auctions would have loved to attend in person with a booth, less travel does dovetail nicely with the companies’ commitment to environmental responsibility. Let’s hope for some in-person interaction next year!View all News
